Our Story
Riverside Motor Lodge in Pigeon Forge has been a family-owned and operated business since 1989, originally founded by the late Jerry Ogle. After starting his career as a pharmacist and operating Gatlinburg Drug Store in the late 1960s, Jerry fulfilled his dream of building and designing his own lodge by the late 1980s. Today, the lodge is proudly run by his daughter and four of his grandchildren, with even the great-grandchildren learning the ropes by greeting guests and handing out pool towels. Visitors are often welcomed by Jerry’s parrot, a long-time resident of over 25 years, who still greets guests at check-in.
While Riverside may not offer the high-rise, modern feel of larger chain hotels, it provides something more personal—a warm, home-like atmosphere where guests are treated like family. Conveniently located in the heart of Pigeon Forge, the lodge is within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Every room features a kitchenette, and guests can enjoy grills on the ground floor, an indoor pool, and access to a shared outdoor pool during the summer months. Stop in and experience the charm of Riverside Motor Lodge for yourself!
